Mentor Manager - North Team
"My role at TFTF involves ensuring that we're able to positively impact the young people we work with. This includes developing and delivering our Mentors’ training programmes, managing their performance by observing sessions in schools, conducting appraisals and ensuring a positive and productive working environment for the team."
"I managed to overcome personal challenges during my time at school with the support of positive role models and have always had a passion for supporting young people reach their full potential. Many students just need someone to relate to and I can be that person for them no matter what they’re going through or how hard things may seem."
"My approachable and non - judgemental personality engages young people and allows them a platform to express their feelings in a comfortable environment. I look to give young people all the tools possible to better themselves for their school life and beyond. I firmly believe in fun and engaging sessions otherwise I won’t be unlocking the best from
myself or the pupils I work with."
"When I was at school, I learnt how to develop my resilience and overcame my own barriers to learning which helped me to achieve my goals. I can really empathise with students, be patient to help them to achieve positive goals and help to guide them in the right direction based on
my own experiences at school."
"My mentoring style is to use humour and to be approachable, whilst maintaining high standards and expectations in order to ensure that young people can achieve in school and beyond. As I have experience of working with a wide range of young people, I actively adapt my mentoring style to suit the needs of different students."
"I want to do everything that I can to motivate young people to live their happiest and best life. I am a trustworthy and approachable mentor. Showing transparency in difficulties helps others to open up about their hardship - a problem shared is a problem halved!"
"The knowledge and experiences I have gained through working in different settings with young people has given me such a passion and drive to help students overcome barriers that are holding them back in life. I aim to make my sessions as interactive and interesting as possible to help develop relationships and create a trusting environment."
"I use my life experiences to relate to students
to help build their motivation and
determination to achieve goals they have set
themselves regardless of the problems they
have faced. I am passionate about creating an honest and open environment where students can overcome barriers and develop."
"I want to create a safe space for my groups where they can develop through the targeted curriculum that we deliver. I am passionate about being an approachable and adaptable mentor in order to have maximum impact on student outcomes."
"As a mentor I draw on the experiences I had at
school. I am a consistent positive influence in
supporting young people to achieve the best
grades as possible so when they leave school,
they have the best opportunity to get a good
career, in something they really enjoy."
"I genuinely believe that young people are the
future of this country and so want them to
succeed. Having that mindset, along with
knowledge of adapting learning styles to suit
everybody, can make a successful mentor."
"I’m the Impact Manager at TFTF. I produce the impact reporting that is included as part of our provision to schools. I also manage our mentor dashboards which give our mentors real time information on the students they work with allowing them to have the greatest impact while working in a school."
