EMPOWERING YOUNG PEOPLE
to be the drivers of positive change in their local community
Placed in the heart of the communities we serve, our community youth programmes are focused on creating a safe and creative space for young people to develop new skills and essential resilience. Aimed at engaging young people who are currently using Metropolitan housing services to voice their opinions and generate ideas regarding the service which is to be factored into key decisions and development. The Young Voices programme provides tailored training and excursions to develop and enhance their skill base and empower them to be change makers in their community. This will be embedded into their ‘Customer Involvement Structure’ to improve Metropolitan service, both in Nottingham and on a national scale.
Young Voices provides participants with skills in public speaking, problem solving, self-esteem, self-expression, leadership, teamwork and more. At the end of the project, participants take part in an exciting caving and camping residential trip!
