We recently spoken to two of our partner schools, Derby Cathedral School and Thomas Clarkson Academy, both of which have adopted our full-time, Integrated Behaviour Hub provision. They kindly shared insight into the added value this unique approach brings to their schools, highlighting the positive impact on students, staff, and the wider school community.
The Integrated Behaviour Hub is designed to support schools in providing effective, in-school support for students who may be struggling to access mainstream classroom environments full-time. This unique approach embeds the consistency and quality of Think for the Future mentoring within the school's existing framework for inclusion. By ensuring that every student receives high-quality attention and guidance from a dedicated TFTF mentor, schools foster environments where all students can succeed, regardless of their background or needs.
Through a combination of daily group mentoring, personalised form groups, parental engagement and deregulation support, the Integrated Behaviour Hub provides a supportive environment within school, reducing reliance on part-time alternative provision, reduced timetables and the time required from your Senior Leadership Team.
At Derby Cathedral School, Deputy Headteacher Alistair Goodhead explains, “Paul provides a crucial layer of support for some of our most vulnerable students. As part of the wider team in Internal Provision, multiple students have 'found their place' in our school.”
Similarly, at Thomas Clarkson Academy, Assistant Principal Scott Chamberlain shared how the mentors have become a crucial part of their school’s fabric: “The mentors have supported our students in developing resilience and coping mechanisms to meet the demands of school life. They’ve created a safe space where students can share their concerns and navigate the growing pressures of school.”
The Power of Consistency
The Integrated Behaviour Hub assigns a full-time TFTF mentor to our schools, providing targeted students with personalised mentoring and support through a structured curriculum that develops social and emotional skills, resilience, and a positive learning attitude. We work with our schools to build a timetable which incorporates the components of the Integrated Behaviour Hub which will best achieve their expected outcomes and ensure their high-tier students are receiving intensive, daily engagement. For both Derby Cathedral School and Thomas Clarkson Academy, the full-time presence of TFTF mentors has provided stability and consistency that go beyond what part-time provisions could offer.
Scott Chamberlain highlights, “The element of consistency and fully understanding our school context, culture, and ethos enables the mentors to fully buy into our school. The students actively seek out mentors and value them alongside our own staff.” He adds, “The TFTF mentors have become a consistent, reliable presence. They offer additional support in the daily running of the academy, making a huge difference to the students' sense of belonging.”
'The transformation we have seen in some of our most vulnerable students has been incredible. Paul's presence has truly helped them find a place in our school'

The Perfect Match
Our team collaborates closely with school staff to ensure smooth implementation, offering training and ongoing support tailored to each school’s needs. We identify the specific requirements of each school’s students, draft initial timetables, and select the most suitable candidate to lead each Integrated Behaviour Hub, ensuring they align with our school’s culture and goals. All our mentors undergo extensive training in Safeguarding, Positive Behaviour Management, Mentoring Theory, and Curriculum Design, so our schools can be confident in their expertise and specialisation.
Enhancing Student Behaviour and Well-Being
Both schools have seen tangible improvements in student behaviour, engagement, and well-being thanks to the full-time presence of TFTF mentors. Our powerful school data analytics tool, Purple, created in-house here at Think for the Future supports this whilst empowering our schools to easily track behaviour, attendance and more. Purple enables our schools to analyse whole school trends, measure the progress of specific groups (including those accessing your Integrated Behaviour Hub) and dive into a student's individual profile.
At Derby Cathedral School, Alistair notes the positive impact being seeing across his students: “Paul’s influence has been remarkable. Behaviour, engagement, and well-being have all improved for those who work closely with him. His support goes beyond academics; he helps build the positive relationships that are key to student success.”
'Our Centre has supported some of our most challenging students, helping them achieve excellent results within the academy without needing to move to alternative provision. That's a significant achievement, and it speaks to the power of the full-time mentor provision'
Scott Chamberlain, Thomas Clarkson Academy
By providing full-time, integrated support through our Behaviour Hubs, Think for the Future mentors are helping to transform school cultures and offer vital, ongoing support to students and staff alike. Both Derby Cathedral School and Thomas Clarkson Academy have experienced first-hand the profound, lasting impact of this provision, demonstrating how a focus on consistency, well-being, and inclusion can truly shape the future of education.
