Laying the Foundations: Our Mentoring Curriculum

At Think for the Future, we believe that every student has the potential to thrive, and that belief is at the core of our mission. Our mentoring curriculum is at the centre and is designed to empower students to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.

Foundation of Our Curriculum

Our mentoring curriculum is built on a solid foundation of five introductory sessions, ensuring that every student embarks on their journey with a strong understanding of our values and principles and expectations of participation in a Think for the Future session:

  1. About Us: In this session, students and mentors get to know each other better; understanding Think for the Future’s mission and the passion that drives us to empower them. We set the stage for a positive and supportive mentoring relationship.

  2. Communication: Effective communication is a key life skill. We equip students with the tools they need to express themselves, listen actively, and build healthy relationships based on clear and respectful communication.

  3. Respect: Respect is the cornerstone of any successful community. We explore the importance of respect for oneself and others, creating an atmosphere of inclusivity and understanding.

  4. Resilience: Life is full of ups and downs, and resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity. We teach students how to face challenges, manage stress, and develop a resilient mindset.

  5. Goal Setting: Goals provide direction and motivation. At the end of the first five weeks working with us, we help students set achievable goals and develop a plan to work toward them, fostering a sense of purpose and determination.

Tailored Mentoring for Every Student

While the introductory curriculum lays a strong foundation, we understand that each student is unique with distinct needs and challenges. That's why we take a personalized approach, tailoring our mentoring sessions to meet the specific needs of each group of students.

Our diverse range of sessions covers a wide spectrum of topics, including:

  • Dealing with Emotions: Helping students understand and manage their emotions in a healthy way.

  • Anger Management: Equipping students with strategies to control anger and channel it into constructive actions.

  • Finding Your Why: Encouraging self-reflection and discovering one's passions and purpose.

  • Making Judgments: Teaching critical thinking skills and ethical decision-making.

  • Conflict Resolution: Building skills to resolve conflicts peacefully and productively.

  • Coping with Change: Navigating transitions and adapting to new situations.

Our Commitment to our Schools

Think for the Future is not just a mentoring programme; we are partners in creating a nurturing and empowering school environment. Our experienced mentors and our mentoring operations team are dedicated to working closely with our schools to understand their unique needs and objectives, ensuring that our curriculum aligns seamlessly with their goals.

As we embark on this journey with our schools, we are excited to witness the positive transformation in our students. Our curriculum is not a one-size-fits-all solution; it's a dynamic and adaptable provision that evolves with the changing needs of the students.

We look forward to the opportunity to empower young people, nurture their resilience, and help them become confident and resilient individuals ready to face the challenges of the future. Together with our schools, we will make a lasting impact on the lives of our students, helping them unlock their full potential.
